Photo Gallery 30 - Timisoara People
Timisoara, in western Romania some 600 km from Bucharest, was where
the 1989 revolution began, with a local revolt against the Ceausescu dictatorship.
It bears its heritage, both ancient and modern, in a truly stately manner, and was
perhaps the most memorable -- and also the last -- of the Romanian cities I visited.
